    Scope and content

    The collection contains photographs from the archives of the Toronto Sun that relate to buildings and student activities on the University of Guelph campus, ca. 1940-1968. Files include:

    File 1: Events - late 1940s to 1968 (12 photos), Farm and Home Week, College Royal, course and conference registration, Alumni picnic, Winter Carnival, employee strike, 1968.

    File 2: Female students – 1946 to 1966 (10 photos), frosh students, kissing technique story and buffet.

    File 3: Graduations - 1946 to 1957 (11 photos), faculty and graduates OAC, OVC and Macdonald Institute.

    File 4: Interior facilities (10 photos), new labs and equipment at OVC, geiger counter, X-ray machinery, stable and operation on a dog.

    File 5: Students, memorials and miscellaneous (6 photos and article), OVC Memorial door, OAC memorial plaque and article by A.M. Porter on War Memorial Hall.

    File 6: Buildings - 1931 to 1965, Horticultural Building, addition to OVC, Zavitz Hall, Athletics, Biology, campus model and aerial view.
