    Biographical history

    Edward Pasmore (1803-1900) and his wife, Mary Ann Jackson (1806-1886), originally from England, settled in Pilkington Township, Wellington County in 1842. They had at least four children: Edward Frederick Pasmore (1829-1913), Harriet Pasmore (1831-1907), Walter Jackson Pasmore (1832-1921), and Clara Pasmore (1838-1892). Walter J., who married Jane Whaley (1845-1928), lived in Puslinch Township and Milverton, Ontario before becoming a lumber merchant and sawmill operator in Guelph, going into business with the Mickle and Whaley families.

    Scope and content

    The collection contains ledgers, memoranda, business letters, and family photographs related to Walter Jackson Pasmore (1832-1921), a lumber merchant and sawmill operator in Guelph. A photograph of the Whaley Lumber Company in Huntsville, Ontario, as well as a biographical article on the Pasmore family, is also included.
