Handwritten in ink. Covers accounts from Berwick-on-Tweed, Scotland, 1832-1833, Saint Andrews, N.B., 1833-1835 and 1836-1844, and Saint John, N. B., 1848-1859. Other locations on the journey such as London, Falmouth, Halifax and Annapolis receive brief entries. Also 2 loose sheets of accounts to "the estate of the late James Raitt", and to "the estate of the late Rob't Kennedy", dated 1844 and 1841. The accounts cover various expenditures, including food, drink, clothing, transportation fare, theatre tickets, losses and profits at cards, servants' pay, medical and church expenses, household goods, etc.

Vair, Cobourg, Ont." and "High School, 187(?)" is on the first page, "Agnes N. Vair" written inside back. Also includes 4 loose sheets of cake and pastry recipes and 1 sheet of newspaper clippings.
Handwritten recipe book mainly of desserts, soups, and preserves. Recipe credits are given. There is a large collection of lemon pie recipes. Salve and ointment recipes, and cholera remedy are written at the back of the book. Also includes 1 loose recipe for cream candy (p. 141-142 from a different book). "The best corn is put up by W.K. Handwritten recipe and remedy book, clasp broken and missing, pages numbered up to 209, p. 101-209 blank, elaborate index in front. Some recipes dated from their magazine source, 1868-1880, no dates associated with p. 1-76 suggesting they may have been entered earlier. A remedy on p. 78 is taken from a 1796 magazine.

Cover has "The Dominion Loose Leaf Note Book", Toronto, Copp Clark Company, Limited. XM1 MS A117054 and XM1 MS A117055 are bound similarly in the same type of notebook with similar labels on the cover.
Handwritten recipe book written in a 1907 diary. Also includes 2 loose recipes for grape wine and war fruit cake, and newspaper clippings of the recipe for the christening cake for the son of Princess Mary and Viscount Lascelles and on effective rations for laying pullets. Throughout the book are prospector's diary entries and notes written around Haileybury.
