The fonds contains correspondence (1891-1899) for Ontario Agricultural College Professor William Richard Graham (1875-1958) and his wife, Kathleen Faul. Several of Professor Graham’s calendar diaries, from 1928, 1932, 1939-1948, 1950-1953, and 1955-1957, are also included.

Some of these also include conservation areas and provincial parks, various sand and gravel companies, and construction companies. Guelph projects include the University of Guelph Arboretum and College/Gordon St., Centennial area, McCrae Legion sports fields, Homewood Sanitarium, Woodlawn Towers, Bullfrog Mall, various other street, residence and business projects.

A small booklet entitled "Guelph, Ontario: The Royal City", issued for the Mayor and Council of the City of Guelph by Heaton's Agency, Toronto (1919), is also included.

The collection consists of original drawings by William Henry Barlett and other material collected by George Henry Virtue of Arthur Hall, Virtue and Co., Barlett's publisher. The collection consists of forty-nine wash drawings and pencil sketches, as well as books, primarily on religion and travel which are illustrated. The four books illustrated in the hard-cover album are: Footsteps of our Lord and his Apostles in Syria, Greece, and Italy, 1851; Pictures from Sicily, early 1853; The Pilgrim Fathers or The Founders of New England, in the Reign of James the first, late 1853; and Jerusalem Revisited, 1855. All were published in London by Arthur Hall, Virtue and Co.

The collection also includes several articles about Bartlett and Virtue by Eugene C. Worman, 1987-1993, chiefly published in AB Bookman and article about the collection published in the American Historical Print Collectors Society Newsletter, v.19, no. 2, Fall 1994.

William Hutt fonds

Approximately half the material includes correspondence, reviews and articles, Hutt’s diary from the Second World War and scripts. The William Macenery Brown collection contains an original typescript of Brown’s book, “The Queen's Bush: A Tale Of The Early Days Of Bruce County”, published in 1932. A portrait of Brown (b&w, 25 x 33 cm.) as well as original pen and ink sketches done by Roy Fisher, featured in “The Queen’s Bush,” from 1922.
